PictureMe, the Artist, in my studio January 25, 2014
Here am I. Days to hanging now at 2 working days (that is, days that I am not working at my job. UGH!). Hanging on January 28, if not in part sooner. It's amazing what a big final push this has been. In addition to simply painting everything, I have also been: inventorying everything, installing hanging wire hardware on everything, finishing up on the framing, on everything, design & marketing and photo-shoot managing everything, catering managing, wine ordering, vinyl sign ordering, banquet permit getting.

TMI you say? I guess I am sharing all of this for you budding artists, and veterans I suppose as well. There are so many things to learn about managing one's art career. This has been intense to say the least :) We'll see how I've done now won't we?

I owe an immense debt of gratitude to my step-father Rhodes who came in and framed like a maniac for me -- Thank you Rhodes! My mom's gift of the framing materias was a super awesome Chanukah gift. My husband has been taking beautiful photographs of my work. Jen Doak, my darling friend has turned me on to some wonderful leads for my event through her awesome restaurant Brimmer & Healtap! I am super looking forward to sharing my Hello Robbin yummy cookies with our catering!

As an "emerging artist" CORE Gallery is an amazing first step opportunity into the greater art world (fingers crossed). As such I am a member artist responsible for all aspects of my show from A-Z and man has it tested my metal. As I said, we'll see how I fare.

Thank you to all of you for

WOW! How incredibly busy you've been! I'm sure it will all be wonderful. Just wish we could have been with you as we had planned. (Darn pelvis!) We are sending our best wishes and please keep us updated with how things are going. Love from your Wichita Fan Club.

All of my life, from my earliest memories as I child, I have felt as though I view the world through some sort of magical frame. To this day I carry that feeling, as though I can look anywhere and see beauty, see nature and objects sparking. Even in a garbage-strewn alley, I can see the poetry of the place, as a breathing image right there on the lenses of my eyes.
